Volunteering Roles

There are plenty of opportunities to get involved and support us. Here are a few ideas but we’re always open to new ideas and suggestions on how we can make Calne Wordfest even better!

We meet every 2 months to talk about our projects and think about what to do next. Everyone is welcome to come along and stay in touch with what we're doing

If you’re looking for some work experience to put on your CV or want something to do for a few hours a week then volunteer with us! We currently have vacancies for the following roles:

Research and Evaluation

This role includes reviewing national evidence and local evidence and developing ways for Calne Wordfest to evaluate the projects we run.
Creating resources for the local community, including schools and local authority to inform the work that we do and for wider community support.

How we will work with you

We use Whatsapp groups to keep in touch with each other which means you can do wordfest work in your own time and feed back when you are able.

Quarterly meetings are held that you are welcome to come to or a trustee will bring an update for you.

Expenses

These are unpaid volunteer roles. If you spend any money in the line of work, you will receive expenses and these can be organised ahead of time.

Skills and experience

You don’t need prior skills, good literacy or lots of experience. A willingness to learn and a passion for people is all you need to volunteer with us. There are no age limits on working with Wordfest and we would especially like to hear from anyone who has had trouble with education or wants to gain experience towards paid work.
