How we will work with you
We use Whatsapp groups to keep in touch with each other which means you can do wordfest work in your own time and feed back when you are able.
Quarterly meetings are held that you are welcome to come to or a trustee will bring an update for you.
These are unpaid volunteer roles. If you spend any money in the line of work, you will receive expenses and these can be organised ahead of time.
Skills and experience
You don’t need prior skills, good literacy or lots of experience. A willingness to learn and a passion for people is all you need to volunteer with us. There are no age limits on working with Wordfest and we would especially like to hear from anyone who has had trouble with education or wants to gain experience towards paid work.
Companies and organisations
If you work for or run a company you can support us in one of two ways:
Fund a Learn to Read course, it costs just £7,000 plus VAT to give 6 adults the opportunity over 20 weeks to raise their reading level above the age of 11.
Make a donation to help cover the literacy based activities and events we put on throughout the year.
Please get in touch to find out more.
We can target your resources to areas that matter to you so please get in touch to find out more about what we do and how your funding can make a real difference to people’s lives.
