Evie's Book Swap

We contacted Leanne because like a lot of us we had seen Leannes post on social media about Evie's book swap based in Calne.

We asked Leanne if we could write this blog to help promote this amazing this that she started and why she did start it.

The book swap started during the summer holidays of 2021 and it is something Leanne wanted to do for some time due to her love of books, so they turned their bedroom into a at home Library.

As such they always had an excess of books that used to go to a charity shops, and as life was still a little uncertain for some last year Leanne thought it would be a perfect opportunity for people to still access books but in a safe and social distanced way.

It also encouraged and still encourages people to get out and explore the community, share & swap books.

The book swap is dedicated to Leannes daughter and in memory of her, hence the name Evie's book swap who sadly passed away in January 2020 just a few weeks before the first lockdown, Evie also loved reading.

A close friend had a piece of acrylic lasered with a dedication which is attached to the fence.

Evie loved anything Korean, a huge BTS fan so painted on the side is 'Miss you Evie' in Korean.

The Library itself is made out of a dolls house that was found in a charity shop and Leanne is currently in the process of getting it registered with a free little library.

Why not take a look, you can find it at Steeple Chase estate in Calne.

Also why not follow Leanne under evies_book_swap On Instagram, you can also find it on google maps if you are unsure where it is located.
